What Does Inbox Mean On Facebook

What Does Inbox Mean On Facebook?

The Facebook inbox is where you can view and respond to messages from friends, family, and other contacts on Facebook. The term “Inbox” refers to the main viewing area of your Facebook account that displays new messages based on their type. In most cases, the word “inbox” refers to an email inbox, such as the one you have through Gmail or another third-party service. In other cases, however, the word has a slightly different meaning depending on the context. For example, what does inbox mean on Facebook? The answer to this question depends largely on which version of English you speak: British English or American English. Let’s take a look at both uses of the word “inbox” and their meanings in each context.

What Does Inbox Mean on Facebook?

The inbox on Facebook is where messages from your friends go. It’s also where you can find messages from businesses, although you can turn this off if you want. You can also message people who are not your friends on Facebook, although they will only be able to message you back if you’re friends with them or if they’ve paid to message you.

How To Use The Facebook Inbox

1. Open the Facebook Inbox

To access your Facebook Inbox, you can open the drop-down menu in the top right corner of your Facebook page. If you have multiple accounts, you can also access your inbox by clicking on the “Inbox” link in the drop-down menu.

2. View Messages from Friends

You can see all new messages on your Facebook Inbox by clicking on “Messages.” This will show you all messages from friends, as well as messages from businesses that you’ve accepted. You can also see messages that are waiting for you in a separate area called “All Unread.” You can click on each message to view it or reply to it directly.

3. Respond to Messages from Friends

To respond to messages from friends, click on the “Friends” tab at the top of your Facebook Inbox. You can then select a friend and click “reply.” This will open a new message window where you can type your response. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a box that tells you how many people have seen your message and how many people have responded to it. You’ll also see an option to send a message to all of your friends or just those who are currently online (only visible if they’re also on Facebook at that time).

4. Respond to Messages From Other People on Facebook

If someone you don’t know has messaged you on Facebook, you can either ignore the message or reply directly to their message. If they’re not a friend, you won’t be able to reply directly unless they’ve paid for messages as described above in step 3. To respond to someone who is not your friend, click “Messages” in the drop-down menu and select “Message.” Select the sender’s name (or photo if they’ve added one), then type your response in the box at the bottom of this screen. If this person is already on Facebook when you send them a message, their name will appear in green next to their photo so that others will know who sent them this message. You can also choose whether or not others should see this conversation by checking or unchecking the “Friends” box at the bottom of this screen.

5. Reply to Messages From Other People on Facebook

If you’re a friend of the person who sent you a message, you can reply to their message directly from your Inbox by clicking on “Friend’s Messages.” When you click “Reply,” it will bring up a new box where you can type your response. At the bottom of this screen, you’ll see how many people have seen this message and how many people have responded to it. You’ll also see an option to send a message to all of your friends or just those who are currently online (only visible if they’re also on Facebook at that time).

6. View Your Conversation History

You can view all previous conversations about an ongoing topic or event by clicking on “Discussion” next to the name of the event or topic in your Facebook Inbox. This will pull up a list of all conversations about that topic from all users who have added their comments since that time. You can scroll through these conversations and click on individual posts to view them individually, as well as reply directly to those posts in the same way as when responding to messages from friends (see above).

7. Delete Messages From Friends in Your Conversation History

When you delete a message from someone, it will be removed from your Inbox and not stored in your Conversation History. However, if you delete the message and then add the sender as a friend again, all previous messages will reappear in your Inbox.

8. Delete Your Conversation History

To permanently remove all of your conversations from Facebook’s servers, click on “Delete” next to the name of the event or topic in your Facebook Inbox. Once you’ve done this, all of those conversations will disappear forever and will no longer be accessible through any other link within Facebook or through any other means.

Bottom Line

The thing to remember about Facebook’s inbox is that it doesn’t function quite like an email inbox. In fact, your Facebook inbox doesn’t even look like an email inbox. This is because Facebook’s inbox is designed to help you quickly identify and respond to new messages without having to wade through a bunch of other messages or notifications. That said, if you want to organize your messages into categories or view a chronological list of your inbox items, you can always click the “e-mail” icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
